Our Story
Littlebit Book Club is a board book series that helps families build strong parent-child bonds in the early years as a foundation for a lifetime of JOY.
It all started in 2017 when Stephanie and Jed Snyder, a married author/illustrator team that met while teaching at the same school, decided to act on an idea. The new parents read board book after board to their infant daughter, Lucy, and quickly realized that there wasn’t much variety beyond animals, objects, ABC’s and 123’s. Naturally a writer, Stephanie grew determined to create a book for babies, toddlers, and the parents who read to them, that would capture the joy in their day-to-day experiences. It worked out that Jed’s background in art would bring the project to life!
Strolling! captures Lucy Littlebit’s view from her stroller as she explores her town with Mommy. The book was released in December 2018 and was well-received by littlebits and their caretakers, alike. As the success of Strolling! grew, Littlebit Book Club released the second book in the series, titled Dining! In Dining! Lucy Littlebit, seated in her high chair, enjoys all of her favorite foods, lovingly prepared by Daddy throughout the day. The third book – Cruising! – was released in March 2020 and features Lucy Littlebit’s perspectives from her car seat about her favorite (and not-so-favorite) places to visit.
In December 2020, the Snyders welcomed baby Leo to the world. After taking time to adjust to life as a family of four, they released Newborn Nights and Diaper Duty in 2022. These two books introduce Leo Littlebit and bring comedic relief to some of the challenges of parenting through the early years.
The books have been featured at major book events like the Montclair Literary Festival, included in book subscription boxes like the Just Like Me! Book Box and Jambo Book Club, and sold in independent bookstores across the U.S. The family is honored to use their gifts to bring joy to other families during the early childhood years that can be both awesome and challenging for littlebits and adults. There’s a little bit of joy in each book!
The Snyders live a close-knit, fun-filled lifestyle in New Jersey with family and friends. They homeschool, travel, and cheer on the New Orleans Saints – Who Dat!
